  • Art Guard are an organisation offering affordable live-to-work spaces for artists in London in the form of guardianship schemes: artists get a place to live and work, property owners protect their otherwise unoccupied buildings.

The Art Guard brand identity takes its inspiration from the idea that, in this context, the role of an artist and that of a guardian is one and the same and is a co-dependent relationship. One relies and benefits from the other and this is expressed graphically with layered logos that share a letter. Rather than one fixed logo, there is a suite of assets to use with the words Art and Guard overlapped. These overlapping rectangular logos – along with a distinctive, paired back colour palette – form the basis of a distinctive graphic language for the brand. Layering, cut-outs and transparencies are key components of the identity, hinting at, or otherwise revealing, that something interesting is happening inside.
